The Community Centre is a voluntary run organisation, which has charitable status and is always seeking volunteers, training and support opportunities are available
The Community Centre comprises 4 function rooms varying in size, from a conference room ideal for committee or similar meetings, to our large sports marked out for badminton, which will accommodate 175 people for family parties, the alternate hall/rooms will accommodate 80 and 50 people and are ideal for Clubs/Societies/Hobby Groups. The centre is equipped with the many facilities you would expect to find in a modern purpose built unit that includes a loop hearing system and wheel chair access, enclosed parking adjoins the centre.
The Community Centre is an expensive place to run and we are self-funding and have to pay all the bills such as heating, lighting, Non-Domestic Rates, water rates, refuse collection, telephone, wages and many tests such as alarm, gas and of course all running costs.
The improvements to the Large Hall, new Ceiling and Lights and new Windows was from a grant from 'Veolia Trust' our refuse collection service, so many thanks to Awards for All and Veolia for all the changes that have been made possible. We also receive regular support from 'The Mary Kinross Trust' who have supported over many years, we are always grateful.
Our Senior Citizens Luncheon Club is now made possible by various small grants, without their help the club could not function, all these grants take time to find and many months of form filling to attain, if you have a skill of filling forms or any other skill that you use at work or your interests, why not volunteer some time to your local Community Centre you are much needed.
Let the Office know of your skill and we will welcome you.
